Hazeldene was the perfect place to celebrate mine and my boyfriends birthdays, welcomed with open arms and given the full run through made us feel right at home (with some chocolates to share and cards to read just for us!) perfect location as it’s only 20 mins walk from Windermere and your located right in the middle of Bowness-on-Windermere, lots of places to eat and enjoy the scenery as you walk to the lake, would definitely stay here again!!

We returned to Hazeldene for our 3rd year, we have already booked again for next year.We were welcomed by Samantha who is delightful. Our room was very comfy and it was made up each day when we left for the day.A full cooked breakfast was cooked fresh and all the products in the guest house are locally sourced.We would highly recommend Hazeldene for its hosts, comfort and location.

We stayed two nights over August bank holiday weekend. Room was very clean comfortable with views of the lake. Great ensuite, lovely hot shower,all spotless. The hosts Steve and Sam were very friendly and welcoming, they couldn't do enough from helping with our bags to local information. Their breakfast is to die for cooked to order, eggs done to perfection. The weather was wet wet wet but we thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Hazeldene guest house!

2nd visit to Sam & Steves welcomingguest house. This time we had room 4 with a nice view of the Lake in the distance.Room was spotless. Fresh towels daily, shower gels, tea coffee replenished daily with a biscuit ( nice touch) Breakfast plentiful, with various cereals, juices fresh fruit and yoghurts. Then a full English or Vegetarian made to order with scrambled, fried or poached egg. As much tea/ coffee and toast refills as you want! Love Steve’s white board in the hall which lets you know of anything that is going on in the area and they interact well with all guests offering advise in the area. Added bonus they have their own parking spaces too!Nice 5 min stroll to the Lakeand shops, so for us ideally situatedLooking forward to our 3 rd visit in the future.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Hazeldene, beautiful view of the lake from our room, delicious cooked breakfasts. Perfect location..room small but cosy had everything we needed.

Everything was perfect, rooms great so,e with extra chairs so you don't have to sit on the bed, breakfast choices great cereal, cooked breakfast, fruit & yoghurt. Perfect location & hosts have brilliant knowledge of the area & what activities are on each day, also the weather for that day are on a board in the entrance area. Could not fault anything.

Our room was very comfy and tidy, the breakfast was delicious, and the couple running the place were very friendly and helpful! They update a board with useful information for the day regarding the weather, things to do, etc. There is car park behind the property, which is always a plus. The place is right in the centre of Bowness, so you can literally walk everywhere - we will be staying there again!

The welcome we hot when we arrived, was as if we had been friends for years, the room was immaculate, very clean,plenty of towels, tea, coffee, view from the room was well worth being on the top floor. We stayed at Hazeldene for 4 nights and couldn’t fault anything in our stay. The hosts couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was comfortable and the breakfast was brilliant every morning. The parking was really important for us and the location was perfect for accessing great restaurants and bars.We also made use of the pool and spa which was a 5 minute drive away and such a lovely treat after a long day of mountain hiking - we actually wished we had used this more once we saw how great it was. The hosts also provided us with towels and padlocks for lockers which made it a really easy experience for 2 tired walkers!We look forward to staying here again in the future.

This was our first time staying at Hazeldene. The location is perfect with a short walk up to Windermere or down to Bowness. The owners are so friendly and can't do enough for you. A big thankyou to Sam/Steve for a wonderful three day holiday at Hazeldene B/B. The room we stayed in had a nice view of the lake ( when the mist cleared ! ) and was very clean ,the bed was very comfortable ,the shower was nice and hot,kettle /tea/coffee / milk /biscuits /bottled water were all provided as well as a hair dryer/ iron and other accessories. The breakfast was excellent with all local fresh produce.A big bonus was the free car parking space at the back of the B/B. We really enjoyed chatting with Sam/Steve everyday it seemed like we had know them for longer than a few days and made us feel very welcome !we will be back next year if not sooner thankyou . As this was our first proper break away for four years we couldn't have asked for a nicer guesthouse, run by a lovely couple. We sadly could only be there for 2 nights and spent most of the first day driving up. But immediately felt relaxed and at home. We stayed in no3 which was very clean and tidy and had all we needed to for a comfortable stay. Sam and Steve went beyond accommodating our needs e.g. letting us park up/check-in earlier than planned, store our bikes in their garage, plus upon request, Sam made us a breakfast sandwich to take away on our checkout day as we had had a big dinner late the night before. The cooked sit down breakfast was good too.Hazeldene is ideal in terms of being near all Bowness has to offer, plus its transport links/ammenities e.g. Windermere train station, the pedestrian/cycle/car ferry to cross Wondermere about 1 mile south of Bowness, Booths supermarket.The only point to make is that while we slept well, as no3 on the 2nd floor is next to the main road in to/out of Bowness, those who are light sleepers may prefer a rear room.

We both very much enjoyed staying with you both. In no particular order my likes, off street parking for our hire car, breakfast all nicely laid out & big for my little belly hahaha. Your internet was the fastest out of the 4 places we stayed, it was more like what I get on Phuket fibre optic downloading @ 10/11mb. Although I know im not supposed to in the UK I did download from torrent sites to get our TV fixes, Thailand no problem, UK to controlling, but I did use a VPN & Kaspersky that scrambles everything coming in & out. As you mentioned down the road many places to eat, further down than what I can walk even more so, so the position of your B&B is excellent. I being a UK non resident now still find the english people most helpfull & happy but we were on holiday, Thailand where I have now lived for 19 years are happy when they are ripping you off. UK was out of season for us as it was cold & damp & our last trip to old blighty was 6 years ago but there were many sunny days & our trip on lake windermere felt so romantic. If we ever came back to the UK again we would love to stay with yourselves again, you are both very nice & helpful people but with so many childrens holidays/hay fever season & the surprised cost of £17 to £18 each for fish & chips in devon/cornwall, £5 to park in a shopping mall, I pay 0.80p for petrol in Phuket, our pool is 33*c all year round & the fact I have no family there anymore I'm affraid it was our last trip. You do live in a lovely area of the UK & we both wish you well & your business. Don't fly Thai airways when the person infront pushes their seat back the screen is 8 inches from your nose. I know I talk too much, thank you again Wahn & Alan

We returned to Hazeldene for Darren’s birthday. We get a very warm welcome from Samantha and Steve. We were in room 1 this visit which is very comfortable and has a lake view (it’s not advertised as having a lake view). The breakfast is freshly cooked to order and delicious. Its location is perfect, walking distance from the main town and all its amenities including the lake. I highly recommend this lovely guest house.If you have limited mobility this isn’t for you as there are steps to the front door and all the bedrooms are up at least 1 flight of stairs.

The place is exceptionally clean throughout. Views from our room was great we could see the lake and the fells from our bedroom which has a King Size bed. Stephen and Samantha are very good hosts. Choice for breakfast is excellent. Would stay again.

Hosts Samantha and Steve were very helpful with suggestions of local attractions. The room and bathroom were spotless. A very nice hot and well cooked breakfast was provided. The car parking (a must in Bowness) was allotted one space to each room so there was no fear of returning after a day out and finding you space has gone! It was only a short walk down to the lake past the many shops, cafés and restaurants. Highly recommended.

We are returning guests at the Hazeldene guest house. Our room was clean and well stocked. Excellent breakfast served from 08:15 - 09:00. Private car parking is available. Great location for Bowness,we have used other guesthouses in the area but only when Hazeldene is unavailable. We always try to stay here when we book the evening buffet/jazz cruise. If you have stayed here previously with Paul & Lesley rest assured standards have remained very high. It has been a great stay. Thanks Hazeldene, see you again.

We had an excellent weekend at this lovely b&b. Location is great for shops/bars/restaurants and there is the added bonus of having parking spaces available for guests. Very warmly greeted by Sam & Steve - they made us very welcome and had lots of advice about the area. Location was perfect - Bowness is a lovely place to be. There is free parking. Bus stop outside gives easy access to the beautiful Grasmere (lots of history and famous for its gingerbread), Ambleside, Windermere. We did not have a lake view (room 3) but the room was ok. All the things you need are available, the bed is comfy and the room is very clean.To be picky it is a little dated, the shower pressure wasn’t great and the bath towels were small.But nothing spoiled our stay. We really enjoyed our stay.

We have just come back from a 2 night stay at the hazledene and I can't fault the accommodation or the hosts, there were 4 couples and I can honestly say everyone said the same things the hosts were second to none, nothing is too much trouble and the attention to detail is amazing, the beds are so comfortable and the rooms are nipping clean, but the breakfasts were the best we've ever had, all local produce cooked to perfection,its settled we've been to bowness numerous times but this is where we will be staying going forward

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hazeldene. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was outstanding, all high quality locally sourced products. The offer of additional sausage and bacon was made every morning along with top-ups of coffee and tea. The pamphlet designed by the owners giving information about local walks and journeys further afield was really useful. We arrived on a Thursday and stayed for two nights. There was a warm welcome from Samantha and Steve. Who then shown us to our room and had everything on hand to help us with our stay. Places to visit. Including a bus timetable and where to catch the bus. £2 per person anywhere in the lakes. Fantastic, didn't have to drive or pay for parking in Coniston. The guest house looked newly painted. The breakfast was plentiful. There was ample parking. Many thanks Samantha and Steve. We will book again if we are up that way. God Bless.

A lovely relaxing weekend away. Friendly hosts, comfortable room and really tasty breakfast. Close to the town centre, so walking is easy to visit the many shops, restaurants and pubs. Or even go for a boat cruise around lake Windermere.

We found the position of the Guest house with added car park space ideal! Samantha and Steve were very welcoming and helpful with the “what’s on where”writing boardin the hall and even the predicted weather for the day with brollys for use - just in case! It felt like they had thought of everything to help accommodate a stay there.We were in room 5 which we had read was small but there was everything we needed with ample storage.Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits replenished daily.Mirrors by plugs, great bathroom lighting and an amazingly comfortable bed! The towels were lovely and soft and the room was absolutely spotless. The breakfast was well catered for withcereals, fruit, yoghurts, juices, toast (choice of white or brown) jam marmalade and a full English which hit the spot perfectly alongside as much tea or coffee required! All food fresh, locally sourced and well presented.We only stayed 2 nights but felt very comfortable and welcomed there and would not hesitate to book again in the future.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the situation is perfect being close to the shops, bars and restaurants and only 10 minutes from the Lake, the piers and the Windermere Jetty Museum. We stayed at Hazeldene for a special birthday celebration. I contacted Steve and Samantha to ask if they could put up banners and bunting in our room, I posted them to arrive before our stay. The room was very comfortable and looked great with the bunting, banners etc. They provide excellent Tea/Coffee/Hot Chocolate in your room and toiletries that smelt lovely. I would recommend Hazeldene B&B to anyone. It isn’t suitable for anyone who finds stairs tricky as there are stairs up to the front door then stairs inside.

Although the guest house itself has only 5-6 rooms, the service by hosts is one of the best I've ever experienced. They are very kind and provide you with any kind of assistance they can offer. We have just spent a long weekend here celebrating our wedding anniversary and were made very welcome. Friendly greeting on arrival and shown to our spotlessly clean room (room 1). Room was bright and airy with plenty of natural light. A view of the lake too. Bathroom was spotless and well equipped and the bed was very comfy. Bedroom had everything you need such as TV, drinks tray, hairdryer, iron etc all quality items. Breakfast was excellent, with yoghurts,fresh fruit, cereals, and a chose your own cooked breakfast, all freshly cooked for you. Hosts were very friendly and made us very welcome. Sam and Steve are a lovely couple who can’t do enough for you. It was my brothers birthday while we were on a weekend break and when we came back on the Saturday evening they had left him a birthday card, a lovely touch. The location is ideal to see the Lake District and a short walk from Bowness which has plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs. We stayed at the Hazeldene for a couple of nights. Based on reviews we booked this guest house and it didn’t disappoint.Location is perfect, comes with parking and the excellent breakfast set us up for the day.The hosts Sam and Steve are welcoming, attentive and have great knowledge of the area to share.We stayed in Room 5, which is the smallest double en suite, but we knew that at the time of booking as the guest house was full, but it was great, had all finishing touches like iron, hairdryer, fan (which was lovely with the glorious weather we got!).Would definitely recommend and we will visit again to see more of lovely Bowness.

Hazeldene has off road parking and we was welcomed and shown to a lovely Room with a fantastic view of Lake Windermere on arrival. It's very clean and tidy throughout with lovely hosts who gave plenty of advice of what was going on in the area or places to visit. The food was amazing and even catered for my wife who is gluten free. Definitely would stay again.

Arrived in car park early. Was allowed to stay and wonder round as rooms were not ready. Bit steep from car park to rooms. Found Samantha & Steve to be accomadating & friendly. Room is basic but clean. The shower is poor, would suggest the landlord try it out. The rooms are quiet at night and breakfast was brill. Fresh fruit & drinks followed by full English. The place is situated just on the edge of town so a good place to start from.

We have stayed at this guest house many times and have never been disappointed, the rooms are always clean and well maintained and our hosts always welcoming and attentive to our needs.The Hazeldene is perfectly located for a short walk into the centre of Bowness, to enjoy the lakeside or the many bars, restaurants and shops.Free parking is included within the price, which is pretty much essential here. The car park is off the main road and feels safe.You will need to be able to climb steps and stairs to access the rooms, however this has never been a problem for us.The Hazeldene is highly recommended

Stayed 3 nights, our room was on 2nd floor in the eaves with a view of the lake in the distance.The room was very clean with usual facilities tea, coffee, biscuits, tv, fan , iron, also had a small sofa and chair. Bed was comfy too, compact shower room with very nice toiletries.Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals and choice of cooked items.Location was great just a few minutes walk to town with a great selection of restaurants, shops and bars and lakeside with walks and boat trips.Great to have parking and there is a very good bus service so we didn’t use the car.

Stayed for 2 nights on way home to Scotland from holiday in Torquay. The room is spotless and well appointed with everything you need and the bed is comfy. Breakfast was tasty. There is lots of information available on what to do in and around the area and the hosts are on hand to give advice too. You are provided with a parking permit to allow you to park your car behind the hotel. The location is perfect for easy walking to the harbour albeit a bit of a hill but not too strenuous.

We have been coming to Bowness for nine years, this was our 5th consecutive stay at the Hazeldene guest house, mein hosts Sam @ Steve took over the business two years ago and have continued with the very high standard of the previous hosts,they are warm friendly hosts who offer a very comfy bed in a room that is well cleaned and stocked, as well as serving a wonderful traditional breakfast, a great place to stay in a picturesq setting, i would highly recommend this gueat house to everyone, hope to be going back next year.

My Husband and I had such a lovely weekend here. We stayed in Room 3. The room was so clean and had all amenities needed. The bed was so warm and comfortable we did not want to get out of bed in the morning.Sam and Steve were so attentive nothing was too much trouble. Stayed here for 2 nights for my wife's birthday weekend and what a fantastic stay. The guesthouse is exceptionally clean and well presented and our room, room 2, was nice and large with a fantastic view of the lake. The hosts, Sam and Steve, were awesome! Very welcoming, super friendly and even gave my wife a birthday card which was a lovely touch. We were on our motorbikes and being able to use the secure garage to store them gave us great peace of mind. Breakfast was delicious with locally sourced ingredients and they even sorted out a veggie option for my wife as well. Hazeldene never fails, it’s a great place to stay when visiting the lakes.Located in Bowness on Windermere it is close to a good selection of shops, eateries, restaurants and friendly pubs.A 200 metre walk and you can be sailing around the many places of Windermere on the large pleasure boats, stop off and get back on as you please.Hazeldene itself is a good central place to tour the lakes and the outstanding countryside, with its own private parking.The hosts Sam andSteve are exceptionally friendly and helpful.The rooms are well equipped, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with coffee and tea facilities.The breakfast is all quality well cooked local produce, and the service is second to none.Can’t fault Hazeldene and will be going back yet again in the near future.

Sam and Steve are the perfect hosts in this great accommodation. It is situated just a 5 minute walk from the shops and restaurants in Bowness. Sam & Steve are friendly hosts always willing to chat and available with good local knowledge of the area the guest house is spotlessly clean, our room, room 2 is large with lovely views of the lake and surrounding mountains the bed was comfortable. the breakfast is good with a choice and cooked fresh their is cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt and a choice of bread for toast. We stayed in the cosy room, which was one of hazeldene’s smallest rooms. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable we slept like a log! We had enough space for our 3 night stay and there was plenty of storage in the room if needed. The breakfast was cooked to order every morning and was fantastic. Sam & Steve are great hosts. Definitely recommended to our friends and family and we shall be back.

Fantastic little guest house with lovely hosts. It was in a perfect location surrounded by loads of bars and restaurants. The off road parking was a bonus. The breakfast was lovely too, my husband who is gluten free was provided for and I had the perfect poached egg. Will definitely recommend.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and wished it was longer. Great friendly hosts who really looked after us, from our arrival until the day we left. Just returned from a great 2 night break in this small guesthouse. Location is excellent and walking distance to everything you need with free parking to the rear. Place was lovely and clean with all amenities you could want in your room.Comfy bed, free wifi, flat screen TV, lots of sockets, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, kettle etc.We had a fabulous view over the lake. Lots of little extras in room like cotton wool, body lotion, body wash, fresh bottle of filtered water daily and fresh milk. Owners were very friendly and helpful and serve an excellent full English breakfast, with the best Cumberland sausage I’ve eaten in a long time.Would definitely recommend and would return

We enjoyed a lovely two night stay in room 2. The room was super clean and comfortable with a fantastic view.The room had everything needed - comfy bed, hair dryer, ironing board, large screen TVs plus some handy extras such as the fresh milk for our tea on arrival, a specific make-up removal flannel, scissors and really lovely smelling toiletries.Both evenings after returning from our meal out we sat looking out across the lake enjoying the beautiful sunsets and making full use of the hospitality tray. The hosts were very welcoming and we liked the little notice board giving details of events happening that day and weather. Breakfast really set us up for our day and it was great that vegetarian sausage and soya milk was available. Parking and location of the guest housemeant we could leave the car once parked and enjoy walking and taking local transport to see the beautiful Bowness and the central lakes. We will definitely recommend The Hazeldene to our friends and family.

Can see now why this place has got such high reviews everywhere!Fantastic little guest house with fantastic hosts.We were in the lakes for my partners birthday and i requested a bottle of prosecco to greet us on arrival to celebrate which was done perfectly and was a wonderful surprise for my partner - Thank you for this it set us up for a lovely stay.The room was lovely, very comfy, spacious, big comfy bed plenty of storage as well as refreshments including fresh milk for a coffee and a daily bottle of fresh water, we also liked the little additions in the bathroom too and the 'in or out' board as well as the daily what's on board.Steve and Samantha were wonderful hosts who were helpful when needed and left the guest to go about their business, the free parking was welcomed too especially in the area around the house.We have already said we will stay here again if we come up in the future.Thank you both for a lovely base for our lovely weekend

This was our 3rd visit to the lakes stopping at Hazledene.Location is great for access to all areas of the lakes.The hosts Sam and Steve are very helpful and friendly, they keep the accommodation spotlessly clean, and comfortable throughout, with an excellent breakfast selection well cooked and presented.They offer good advice for trips out, walks, boating, trains, routes etc.Plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs locally.Excellent place to stop and explore the Lakeland areas.

Although ive stayed here before this was my first time with new owners samantha and steve. They have made some little changes which have improved the rooms....doors on showers instead of curtains !!! We stayed at Hazeldene for 2 nights recently and we were anxious because of the corona virus if our accommodation would be clean. We had no worries because Hazeldene was spotless. Sam and Steve have worked really hard to keep their establishment ready for visitors wanting to get away from the problems that surround the corona virus and they succeeded in making my husband and myself feel safe. Had a fantastic stay at Hazeldene. Sam and Steve were excellent hosts. They were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We felt very safe staying here as it was very obvious that they were taking all the necessary precautions to keep their guests safe during the pandemic. There were hand sanitisers at the entrance and in our room, breakfast tables were set 2m apart to allow social-distancing, they steam-clean the furniture between guests and were both wearing gloves and masks when serving breakfast. We really appreciated all their efforts.Our room was facing the lake and had quite a nice view. It's spacious, clean and comfortable. The guesthouse is in a great location as it's in a fairly quiet area of the town but not too far away from all the shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and the main pier. Food was not a worry for us as these were only a 5-minute walk away. Driving to Grasmere or Ullswater didn't take long either.Sam and Steve's hosting style was warm and personalised, thanks for remembering that we like our bacon crispy! Breakfast was delicious every morning with locally-sourced produce, including the jams and marmalades. We also liked that our bathroom products were from a nice local shop (Bath House) and thought that this was a lovely touch. Thanks again for hosting us as we had a wonderful stay.

As the 1st guests 'post lockdown', we found our hosts, Steve & Samantha, to be very friendly & helpful. The accomodation was clean, breakfast plentiful, & the property is ideally positioned, being close to the town centre, with easy access to some lovely walking routes.

Our second stay in 6 weeks and we really didn’t want to leave. On arrival we were greeted as old friends and shown to our room (2). Wow ! This is the largest room and the view is to die for. Breakfast was again excellent and hopefully it won’t be long before we can return.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Hazeldene guest house, with a warm and friendly welcome from hosts Sam and Steve. The accommodation is pristine and cleanliness is second to none, comfy bed and quality bedding and towels, good choice at breakfast,Steve cooked us a tasty full english breakfast using locally sourced produce while Sam kept us topped up with freshly brewed coffee, location is perfect for shops ,bars ,restaurants and of course the lake and wonderful walks. Stayed with Sam & Steve, just new owners of the guest house, and everything run great, room was clean and tidy, breakfast was great, would highly recommend, they were there if needed but never hassled you either. ps loved the black flannel idea in the bathroom for make up :-).The B&B is in a great location and walking distance of the Bowness and bus stop outside for going other places.

Hazeldene Guest House is an absolutely brilliant guest house perfectly situated for the short walk in to Bowness the host Paul was brilliant he was very welcoming greeted myself and my wife with the up most respect the room was just what we needed. My partner and i booked to visit the lake district for our birthdays. When we arrived we was met with a smile and a very warm welcome from Lesley. The room was perfect and felt homely with a gorgeous view of Lake Windermere. Breakfast was amazing just the right amount to start the day .Paul was very attentive made us both feel welcome and as though nothing was a problem. Hazeldene was in the perfect spot to walk to around bowness get a boat cruise from the pier or walk up to Windermere.We hope to see you both again soon as Hazeldene would definitely be our place of choice to stay.

Stayed for 5 nights. The room had everything a person would need, down to small things like face cloth, fan, torch, etc. It has beautiful views of Lake Windermere. The breakfast was delicious with a selection of cereals and a full English. Paul and Lesley were so helpful, offering trip advice and helping with buses and ferry timetables. Friendly people, lovely room, I couldn’t have asked for more.

The stay was lovely. Great breakfast, comfy bed, Paul and Lesley were great hosts. The guest house was only a 10 minute walk to all amenties plus the beautiful Lake Windermere.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Room was as expected and a lovely view of the lake. Location was very good and easy to have a stroll down to the lake. Parking space provided for each room. Great breakfast and more than enough. For the price this is a gem. Thanks for looking after us and have a nice retirement.

Hazeldene is one of (husband and I) our favourite places. This time we went with our friends. Paul and Lesley always give a warm welcome and always go the extra mile to ensure that our stay is spot on and we have all we need. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are spotlessly clean. They also provide a good vegetarian breakfast, with homemade jam and marmalade. The Guest House is a two minute walk to the centre surrounded by great restaurants and cafes. About 20 yards from the bus stop, with a regular bus service. Great for walkers too. I highly recommend it.

Hi Carol thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review on your recent stay with us. I\'m sorry all was not 100% but if you had mentioned it while you were here we may have been able to do something. Tv reception can be a tad iffy but that can be down to the weather (which was poor) and the fact we have to share the transmitter and only get some programmes. Also it has been known for some guests to fiddle with the TV setup and not tell anyone. Wifi can be patchy and it is down to a few reason some of which we have no control i.e the line into the house, guests\' devices and the thickness of the walls, 18 inches in some places. I\'m glad you had a nice stay overall and hope to see you again some time soon. Paul

We chose Hazeldene for a 3 day trip to the Lake District. The guest house has a great location with views of Lake Windermere and a few minutes walk to shops and a wide range of pubs, restaurants etc. (we even visited the small cinema which was 2 mins walk away)Paul is a remarkable host! Funny, likeable and interesting but totally professional and with an incredible eye for detail and service. We were thoroughly entertained by him and this influence the quality of our stay right from the start.Our room (2) was warm and comfortable with a great lake view.We would think of staying nowhere else next time we visit the lakes

Stopped two nights to get in a couple of walks and to visit Laundry Theatre ( 5 minute walk down road). Paul and Lesley very helpful hosts, giving splendid breakfasts and useful walk information. Paul gave us printout information on circular walks to Orrest Head and Scout Scar. Room 2 was excellent value. Overlooking rear of property with view of lake ....after climbing up to 3rd floor! Lovely large room with small sofa, two comfy chairs and small ensuite. Would certainly stay again!

My wife and I booked 2 nights at Hazeldene and now wish we'd booked longer.Paul is an exceptional host, very personable and chatty, but not intrusive.The location is at the top of main thoroughfare and minutes from the Piers. Parking is excellent with a parking space behind hotel.The room, number 4, was spacious and comfortable. With a view over the Lake and you have an excellent view of the sun setting over the lake itself. Being high up the room can get quite warm, but Paul has thought of everything and a fan is provided, which was a Godsend to be honest.Breakfast is lovely, which is ordered the night before. Paul even makes his own Jam's and Marmalade, a couple of which we tried and were not dissapontedThe room is located up a couple of flights of stairs, so if you have mobility issues you may want to think about it or check with Paul to see if you'd be suitable.If, or when, we return to the Windermere area then Hazeldene will be at the top of our places to stay

Stayed here weekend just gone and honestly couldn't fault it one bit. Arrived early to make the most of the day and Paul allowed us to park up and check in early. The Guest House is really lovely, very clean and comfortable. We stayed in Room 2, the biggest in the property and it over looked the Lake which was a bonus. Breakfast was superb and set us up for the day. I recommend trying the homemade Jams and Marmalades. I think when we stay in Bowness again we will be staying here! Thank You for a pleasant experience.

Could not fault our 2 night stay at Paul & Lesley’s guesthouse. From the moment we got their we felt at home and were made very welcome, Paul is extremely friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. We stayed in Room 1, which was spacious and had a lovely few of the lake. Bed extremely comfortable with fluffy pillows and thick duvet, slept very well! Breakfast was faultless with many options selected the night before making the morning relaxed and organised. Homemade jams were delicious! Location is perfect, just a short walk to Windermere town centre for shops and a shorter walk in the opposite direction takes you through various pubs, restaurants and bars ending up down at the lake! Parking is safe and off the street, Paul even allowed us to leave our car on the day of check out so we could have one last look around Windermere and even managed a boat trip to Ambleside! Overall, I would 100% recommend Hazeldene Guest House. You will not be disappointed!

Once again it was time to decend on bowness-on-windermere and the weekend stop at the hazeldene Guest House, with mein host's Lesley and Paul been their usual freindly and welcoming selves, the rooms are alway's spotless and warm, breakfast is served 8:30 - 9 and is very good, paul likes a chattie roomso no grumpy morning allowed, this was our third visit to the establishment, and we have already booked again for next year. It is wonderful homely Guest House clean and tidy and situated in the right place for us. Highly recommended

Fourth visit to Hazeldene and already booked next stay. Paul and Lesley make sure we have a comfortable stay. Always feel welcome. Spotlessly clean rooms, great breakfast and home made jams and marmalades,what more can you want? Rooms at the rear of the house have lake views. 5 mins walk down the hill to the town centre with all its facilities and a little further to the lake. Free car parking. Steps to reach front door and stairs to rooms so need to be reasonably mobile.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Hazeldene.Paul and Lesley are fantastic hosts, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.Everything is clean and tidy.We had room 4 which is a good size and has a great view over the lake.The breakfast is fabulous amd really sets you up for the day.Having allocated parking given the location is an absolute godsend.Thanks for a great weekend.

Sadly we didn’t really see Lesley much apart from the morning but can confirm that she makes a mean breakfast! Just what you need to set you up for a day walking (from pub to pub :-)). Great location and is central to everything. We will definitely be returning and will recommend to family and friends.The room we stayed in was on the main road but that was the only room left when we booked. I’m a very light sleeper so it was only an issue for me. My husband wasn’t phased at all. This isn’t a complaint just a personal issue. I’ll try and book a different room next time but would still be happy with this one if that’s all that is available.

I would recommend Hazeldene to anyone. Paul is very welcoming and friendly and gave lots of little tips about the area. The view from Room 4 was excellent. The breakfast was very good. It was a lovely walk from the front door down to the lake and easy access by car to lots of other places of interest!

Spent the last few days at this lovely guest house it's in a great location between Windermere and bowness .greeted on arrival by Paul who is an excellent host.our room was very very clean comfy and warm as we had some cold weather.bed was comfy I can't fault anything. breakfast was also good .served by Lesley.every little detail is catered for like scissors to cut the sachets at breakfast and home made jams if I stay in the lakes again will defiantly give Paul a call .

Just had a fantastic 2 night stay, in this spotless and well run B&B.Situated just a short stroll from the centre of Bowness on Windermere, with an abundance of local shops, pubs, eateries, boats to hire and cruises around the lake. This idyllic location was perfect for our first time visit to the lakes and has left us with the desire to return again soon.Paul and Lesley have got this B&B spot on in every aspect. From the warm welcome and informative local knowledge right through to the little touches which made this B&B a home from home. We stayed in the larger room 2 with a beautiful view over the lake, where there is space to sit and reflect on the days activities.You will not be disappointed in booking this B&B and I am even confident in recommending the Hazeldene to the mother in law !!Thank you Paul and Lesley for a wonderful stay and no doubt see you again soon.

Stayed at Hazeldene for 2 nights and this guest house is fantastic. Stayed in room 2 with amazing views of the lake and mountains. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with plenty to eat and more was always on offer if you wanted it. Homemade jam and marmalade well worth a mention as delicious. Paul and Lesley are exceptional hosts and we'll definitely go back to stay there as central location for Windermere and Bowness.
